Construction of $15 million Penn High School fieldhouse project approved
MISHAWAKA, Ind. (WSBT) — A construction contract has been approved for Penn high school’s $15 million fieldhouse project.
The upcoming facility, spanning nearly 55,000 square feet, will boast a 6-lane track, comprehensive track and field amenities, several basketball courts, and additional features.
Construction is slated to begin in a few weeks, according to PHM’s Chief Operating Officer.
“For two decades, the district has envisioned a fieldhouse, primarily to expand space and increase opportunities for student involvement in various activities. Our goal is to engage students not just in sports, but in academics and extracurricular activities, offering various opportunities that align with their interests,” explained Dr. Aaron Leniski, COO of PHM.
The project will be financed without raising taxes, though plans to make the facility accessible to the community are still being finalized.
