Weekly Road Construction Update Week of March 24 to March 29
Improvements at Powell Butte Highway/Butler Market Road Intersection (Bend Area) – Sign installation activities are scheduled near the Powell Butte Highway and Butler Market Road intersection.
Traffic Advisory – Shoulder closures on both Powell Butte Highway and Butler Market Road are expected. Caution is advised for road users. Beginning April 1, Butler Market Road will be shut from Powell Butte Highway to Dickey Road. Detours will be available via Nelson Road and Dickey Road.
Smith Rock Way Bridge Replacement (Terrebonne Area) – Work on the bridge foundation is underway at Smith Rock Way Bridge.

Traffic Advisory – Smith Rock Way is closed to through traffic from NE 33rd Street to Lambert Road due to bridge replacement. A detour route via Lambert Rd, NE Wilcox Avenue, and NE 33rd Street is in effect. Local traffic access is maintained during construction, which runs from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday to Friday.
Hunnell Road Improvements (Bend Area) – Grading activities are ongoing on Hunnell Road between Pohaku Road and Tumalo Road, and between Bowery Lane and Rogers Road.
Traffic Advisory – Hunnell Road is closed to through traffic in these segments. Local traffic access is maintained. Hunnell Road is also shut between Bowery Lane and Rogers Road for grading. Local residents can access Bowery Lane via US-97. Construction hours are from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday to Friday.
Gribbling Rd Bridge Replacement (Bend Area) – Paving is taking place on Gribbling Road near the Central Oregon Irrigation Canal.
Traffic Advisory – Gribbling Road is closed at the Central Oregon Irrigation Canal for bridge work. A detour is available via US-20, Gosney Road, and Ward Rd. Local traffic access is maintained. Work hours are from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday to Friday.
Utility Work on Burgess Road (La Pine Area) – Utility installations are in progress along Burgess Road near Glenwood Road.
Traffic Advisory – Shoulder and single-lane closures with flagger assistance are expected on Burgess Road. Road users should be cautious and anticipate delays up to 20 minutes during work hours.
