The Volunteer Park Banquet Hall is located on the west side of Plantation at Sunrise Boulevard and 118th Avenue. The banquet facility offers spacious meeting rooms with seating for 10 to 175 individuals. There is also banquet seating for 50 to 240 individuals. The main banquet room has a stage, a dance floor and a grand piano available. The Volunteer Park Community Center also has a full service kitchen including a convection oven, walk-in cooler, ice machines and commercial warmers. Deicke Park, which opened on October 10, 1993, is named for Plantation pioneer Edwin F. Deicke. It features a half-mile jogging trail with exercise equipment designed for joint use by the general public and the physically challenged. Park amenities include two hard court tennis courts, sand volleyball, a basketball court, picnic tables and open play areas. A shaded playground provides fun for toddlers and older children. The park also has a pavilion that may be rented for parties, picnics and family gatherings. Restrooms are open during daylight hours.
